Q:
I just purchased
one SNT-ESATA232UESR and am
just trying to use it today. Before plugging it in, I set the
mode to JBOD. The display shows 1 upon boot up. First I
connected the device using the ESATA cable. It recognized a
single hard drive but only 8 GB of the hard drive. I thought
maybe something was wrong on the ESATA side so I disconnected
the cable and hooked it up to the USB2.0 port. It recognized a
single hard drive however it also only recognized 8 GB of it.
The main status light is green. The hard drive lights will blink
red (even if a hard drive isn't in the slot). I have also tested
one hard drive at a time in each slot. I can't think of anything
else I can do. Is the unit defective?
A:
The problem is you forgot
to press the 'change mode button' once!
For your reference:
1) We use our old hard disks when we test these products.
However, the system does not recognize your new hard disks when
you put your new hard disks in if you do not press the 'change
mode button' once.
2) You have to push the 'change mode button' once each time you
change the Raid mode.
P.S.
In the future -- if you can see 8GB only --that means you did
not push the 'change mode button' once.
This is described on the manual but customers sometimes did not
read it before use.
